The Passion Pro will soon become the third motorcycle from Hero to transition into the BS6 era

  • The Passion Pro BS6 seems to feature cosmetic and mechanical changes.
  • It gets dual-tone colour schemes as well.
  • It’s powered by the same 109.15cc engine as the Splendor iSmart BS6.
  • Expect a premium of around Rs 7,000 to Rs 8,000  over the outgoing model.

Hero MotoCorp was the first motorcycle manufacturer to enter the BS6 era with the Splendor iSmart. And from the looks of it, it's ready to cement its position with the introduction of its second motorcycle - the Hero Passion BS6 - which is likely to take place pretty soon. Also, the spy pictures which have surfaced online showcase the bike with cosmetic and mechanical updates.

The Passion Pro BS6 features a new, sharper front fascia compared to the simple and sober look on the BS4 model. It now gets a fuel tank with sleeker tank extensions painted in a dual-tone colour scheme. Also worth mentioning is the new shade of yellow with snazzy graphics that makes the bike look and feel a lot sportier than before.

While the official spec have been kept under wraps, we do know that the Passion Pro BS6 draws power from the same 109.15cc, single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected motor seen on the Splendor iSmart BS6. In its current state of tune, it makes 9.5PS at 7500rpm and 9Nm at 5500rpm, mated to a 4-speed gearbox.

Underpinnings are likely to remain unchanged. That’s a telescopic fork and a twin shock setup at the rear handling suspension duties, while its braking setup comprises a 240mm disc/130mm drum up front and a 130mm drum at the rear. Features like i3S idle start-stop and IBS (Integrated Braking System) will come as standard.

As for its pricing, we expect the bike to garner a premium of around Rs 7,000 to Rs 8,000 over the BS4 model which retails at Rs 60,900 (disc). Expect the bike to be launched before April 2020. When launched, it will compete against the Bajaj Discover 110, the Honda CD Dream Series, the Honda Livo and the TVS Victor.
