Last month, Hero MotoCorp launched its first BS6 motorcycle, the Splendor iSmart, in India. Now, with the 2020 Glamour being spotted for the first time, we know that the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer is planning to add another BS6 model to its lineup.
Although the bike was heavily camouflaged, we spotted some minor details. For instance, the instrument cluster seems to be a new semi-digital unit and the rear end has been revised. It now gets a single-piece grab rail instead of a split setup as seen on the current model. Apart from this, there’s not much to report, however, expect Hero to give the 2020Glamour new paint options and decals.
In terms of mechanicals, the 2020 Hero Glamour is likely to carry forward the same suspension and brake setup as the current model. However, the major change will be in the form of an updated engine. The current Glamour is powered by a 124.7cc fuel-injected motor that puts out 11.7PS and 11Nm of torque. But the 2020 iteration is likely to get a bump in power and fuel efficiency as well.
The BS6-compliant Glamour is likely to get a price increment of around Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000 over the current model, which retails at Rs 69,950 (ex-showroom Delhi). It is expected to go on sale by early next year. In terms of rivals, it goes up against the Bajaj Discover 125 and the Honda SP 125, which is the only BS6-compliant motorcycle in this segment.
