Hero MotoCorp is bringing back the product development for all its models back to India after its split with Erik Buell Racing (EBR) who was handling its production in the US. After the end of the collaboration of Hero MotoCorp and Honda, Hero MotoCorp joined hands with EBR for strengthening its R&D department. In April 2015, EBR announced bankruptcy resulting in a delay of several company plans. There was a big question mark on what the company will do for their jointly-developed products like its 250cc motorcycle, the HX250R, which has been already seen running on the Indian roads.

Talking about the matter at the inaugural general meeting of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Hero MotoCorp Chairman and Managing Director, Pawan Munjal said, “Clearly with the company (EBR) going into receivership surely there is slight push back in the timelines. But we are continuing to work on those products. In fact, we are doing all the work over here in India. The process is under finalisation as we speak. I believe it is just a matter of couple of weeks now that we bring in here and restart work on those products.” He added, “The company's upcoming innovation facility in Jaipur would commence operations from early next year.”
