  • Both the AE-29 And AE-75 return a range of 80km per charge.
  • These scooters can travel at a top speed of up to 55kmph.
  • The AE-29 features Bluetooth connectivity, anti-theft smart lock, digital console, and a mobile charger.

Hero Electric has taken the wraps off two new electric scooters at Auto Expo 2020. The AE-29 caters to the high-speed electric scooter segment, while the AE-8 serves the low-speed segment. The former belongs to the Comfort Series and the latter is a part of the Trend Series. As for its arrival timeline, both scooters will be launched in the next couple of months.

The AE-29 is powered by a 1000W motor and a 48V/3.5kWh lithium-ion battery that offers a range of 80km on a single charge. It can be fully charged within 4 hours. The AE-8, on the other hand, offers the same distance per charge, however, at speeds of 25kmph.

In terms of features, the slightly more premium AE-29 gets Bluetooth-enabled digital instrument console, anti-theft system, mobiles charging port, walk assist, and reverse assist. Additionally, the scooter can be tweaked over time with the help of OTA (Over The Air) updates. Other notable features include LED lighting and extra storage in the front apron.

The AE-29 employs a telescopic fork and twin gas-charged suspension at the rear. Its braking setup comprises drum brakes at both ends coupled with CBS (Combined Braking System). A similar setup is seen on the AE-8 electric scooter, with the only difference being the rear suspension setup -- it features conventional twin shock absorbers.

From a design standpoint, the AE-29 is sharp and angular, while the AE-8 inclines more towards the neo-retro side of things. The latter also features a full-LED headlight running a halo LED DRL and a full-digital instrument console. The front apron also seems to come with a unique-looking honeycomb design backlit in blue.

But that isn’t the end of it. Hero Electric has also showcased a third scooter designed to serve the high-speed EV segment. The AE-75, as the firm calls it, gets a top speed of 55kmph and a range of 80km/per charge.
