GST Effect: New Honda Two-Wheelers Prices revealed

Honda has announced post-GST prices for its range of bikes and scooters. For the uninitiated, GST (Goods and Service Tax) is a unified tax structure that aims to bring all existing taxes under one unified tax. Read our article to know more about how GST impacts prices of two wheelers.

All the prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

Under the earlier tax structure, all two-wheelers were charged 30 per cent tax, which has now been reduced to 28 per cent for two-wheelers below 350cc. The result is a reduction in ex-showroom prices albeit marginally for most bikes sold below 350cc. For, Honda, the price drop ranges from Rs 326 (lowest) for the Activa 4G to Rs 724 (highest) for the Honda Hornet 160.

However, while ex-showroom prices for two-wheelers have dropped post-GST, we are yet to ascertain how much of a gain customers will actually make since the on-road prices of bikes may rise owing to an increase in tax rates of vehicle insurance and RTO prices.
