EXCLUSIVE: Upcoming Ather 450S Spied And Teased!
We got a glimpse of the upcoming e-scooter’s instrument console in the teaser
Ather had announced previously that they are introducing the 450S and that it is based on the 450X. And now it has been spied testing and the manufacturer has also teased what looks like the console of the upcoming e-scooter.
From the teaser, it looks like the instrument console will be an LCD unit. That’s expected, because the 450S will be the most affordable e-scooter in Ather’s lineup. We already know that the 450S gets a smaller 3kWh battery pack compared to the 3.7kWh battery pack the 450X gets. Also, from the teaser, we can see that the claimed top speed (90kmph) and performance figures (0-40kmph in 3.3 seconds) of the 450S are going to be the same as that of the 450X. So, the smaller battery capacity of the upcoming e-scooter has affected its range, which is a claimed Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) range of 115km whereas the 450X gets an IDC-claimed range of 146km.
From the spy shots, we can see that the exterior design of the scooter will remain the same as other Ather scooters, and this was expected as the 450S is a variant of the 450X. It is also expected to come equipped with fewer fancy features.
The 450S will have an introductory Rs 1,29,999 (ex-showroom Bangalore) price tag. For perspective, the Ather 450X costs Rs 1,65,435 and Rs 1,44,921 with and without the ProPack (both ex-showroom Bangalore, including FAME 2 subsidy). With this price tag, the Ather 450S will compete against the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ola S1 Air and the Vida V1 Pro upon launch.
