We bring you exclusive shots of the baby Adventure before its official launch
A couple of days ago, we shared exclusive shots of the upcoming 250 Adventure arriving at dealerships, hinting at a November-end launch. Now, we give you a closer look at the smallest adventure tourer from the Austrian manufacturer.
The 250 Adventure looks very much similar to the 390 Adventure. However, it gets a few minor changes distinguishing it from the elder sibling.
The most obvious difference is the halogen headlamp unit instead of the full LED unit seen on the 390 Adventure. But it does get LED DRLs.
While the 390 Adventure uses a TFT instrument console, the 250 Adventure gets a black and white LCD unit in a layout similar to the 390. KTM has also skipped Bluetooth connectivity with the 250 Adventure.
With a less sophisticated dash, the 250 Adventure doesn’t get the switch cube seen on the 390 and makes do with the same traditional switchgear as its naked sibling.
In a bid to save cost, the adjustable brake lever has also been given a miss on the 250 Adventure.
Thankfully, the 250 Adventure gets the 12 volt charging socket under the instrument console just like the 390.
The off-road ready footpegs are the same as the 390 Adventure.
The 249cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine is straight off the 250 Duke. We expect it to produce 30PS and 24Nm, same as the naked counterpart. The six-speed transmission is also the same as the 250 Duke but misses out on a quickshifter.
Being an adventure tourer, the bike gets switchable ABS, but misses out on traction control to keep the price in check.
The 250 Adventure uses the same 19/17-inch wheel setup as the 390 Adventure. The bike sports MRF Mogrip Meteor FM2 tyres.
The short, raised exhaust is straight off the 390 Adventure as well.
The 250 Adventure gets the same 14.5 litre fuel tank, which stores 1.1 litre more than the naked counterpart.
The 250 Adventure has a 200mm ground clearance, same as the 390 Adventure. The bike also gets the same bash plate as the 390.
The seat height is pegged at 855mm, which may not be best suited for shorter riders.
The 250 Adventure is expected to launch with a price tag of around Rs 2.40 lakh, which will slot it right in between the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the BMW G 310 GS.
