A design patent has also revealed more details about its switchgear and console

(Update: Hero MotoCorp has launched the all-new Karizma XMR! Check out the bike here)

After the design patent of a maxi-scooter last month, another patent of an upcoming Hero bike has surfaced online, and this time it seems that of the Karizma XMR 210. Now, while we’ve already seen test mules of the bike, through this design patent we’ve observed some key details about the bike’s frame, switchgear and console.

For starters, the bike gets a trellis frame! After the Dakar bike that was spotted in early 2020, this is only the second Hero bike to get a trellis frame. This should not only help in weight savings, but should also aid in giving the bike sporty handling.

Next is the console. The Karizma’s console housing looks quite big and the bike could very well get a large TFT. That’s further reinforced by its premium-looking switchgear. It has buttons above the indicator switch, likely for menu navigation.

That said, what’s surprising is that among all these sporty elements, Hero has thrown in a telescopic fork. Given that even the updated Xtreme 160R 4V gets an inverted fork, it’s funny that Hero didn’t give its most performance-oriented bike to-be one too. Even the swingarm is a box-section unit, which could ensure competitive pricing.

All in all, the design patent adopts quite a sporty stance overall and unlike the OG Karizma with bikini fairing, this is a fully faired one and looks quite sporty. That said, the raised clip-ons should give a riding posture that’s more like the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar F250 and the Pulsar RS200, than an outright supersport like the KTM RC 390.

Summing up, the upcoming Hero Karizma XMR 210 sounds quite promising. Expect it to debut in a couple of months at a price tag of around Rs 1.75 lakh ex-showroom. It’ll then go up against the Pulsar RS200, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 and the KTM RC 200.
