The latest spy shots reveal some interesting information

There’s a 650cc scrambler-style Royal Enfield bike in the making, which was first spotted in the UK. Well, the same bike was then spotted on Indian soil, albeit with a few visual changes. However, now, here’s a close look at the Royal Enfield Scrambler 650, which sports a few interesting bits.

While the test mule spotted presents an overall aesthetic similar to the bike spotted in India earlier, this time around, this bike does sport the dirt-tracker-style large oval side panels, which is more in line with the scrambler theme.

Next up is the Pirelli Scorpion STR dual-purpose tyres wrapped around wire-spoke wheels. The twin shocks at the rear are not gas-charged as the ones found on the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, however these appear to still be pre-load-adjustable. The upside-down fork also looks to be different from the units seen on the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650, while the Scrambler 650 sports ByBre brake calipers.

The instrument console looks similar to the one seen on the Meteor 350. Also expect Royal Enfield to offer the tripper navigation pod as an accessory.

While there are a few upcoming Royal Enfield bikes sharing the same 648cc heart, like the Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650, we hope that the company tweaks this engine to suit this scrambler’s nature. For perspective, the Interceptor 650 makes 47.65PS and 52Nm.

From the looks of it, the Chennai-based manufacturer seems to be putting the Scrambler 650 through an extensive test programme, visible from the numerous test probes installed around the bike.

Royal Enfield does have a long list of bikes awaiting launch, the most prominent being the Super Meteor 650 tomorrow. That said, the prospect of a scrambler based on the 650cc platform is exciting, and it could be launched in mid-2023.

We expect Royal Enfield to price it between Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom). For perspective, the Interceptor 650’s prices start from Rs 2,88,814 (ex-showroom Delhi). Once here, it will rival the Moto Morini Seiemmezzo 6 ½.
