Quick Highlights

  • MY27 Kawasaki Versys 1100 launched at Rs 13.89 lakh

  • Other Kawasaki bikes get discounts of up to Rs 2.89 lakh

Kawasaki has launched the MY27 Versys 1100 in India at a starting price of Rs 13.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

Design

The Kawasaki Versys 1100 retains its familiar adventure tourer design, with a tall adjustable windscreen for better wind protection, full fairings and a sharp-looking front end with split LED headlights. The bike also gets an upright riding position, wide handlebars and a long, sculpted seat. Overall, the bike looks quite aggressive and purpose-built for long-distance touring.

The 2027 Kawasaki Versys 1100 is available in a single Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray/ Metallic Diablo Black colour option.

Engine & Gearbox

The bike is powered by the same 1,099cc liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder engine which makes 135 PS and 112 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

Underpinnings

The bike uses an aluminium twin-tube frame, with the engine acting as a stressed member. Suspension duties are handled by an adjustable 43 mm inverted fork and a remote adjustable monoshock, with 150 mm of wheel travel at the front and 152 mm of wheel travel at the rear.

Braking duties are handled by twin 310 mm front discs with four-piston radial monobloc callipers, while the rear gets a larger 260 mm disc with a single-piston calliper. The bike rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup.

Features

The Versys gets a semi-digital instrument console with an analogue tachometer and an LCD insert which houses the speedometer, trip meter, fuel gauge and other rider statistics.

Other features include electronic cruise control, multiple power modes and Kawasaki Cornering Management Function. It also gets a handlebar-mounted USB Type-C port for added convenience. Safety features include dual-channel cornering ABS and traction control.

Kawasaki Bikes September Discounts

Kawasaki is also offering discounts and benefits on several non-E20 compliant motorcycles in India until September 30, 2026, to clear older inventory.

The offers include discounts of up to Rs 2.89 lakh on the Ninja ZX-10R, Rs 1.50 lakh on the KLX230 RS and Rs 28,000 on the Ninja 300. Several other models, including the Ninja 500, Ninja 650, Z650 and Z650RS, also get discounts or other benefits.

BikeDekho Says

For 2027, the Kawasaki Versys has received almost no significant updates, and while the bike still has capable underpinnings and a punchy engine, it severely lacks features, as it has no connected features like Bluetooth and turn-by-turn navigation. We hope Kawasaki updates the bike in future updates to make it more competitive in the litre-class touring bike segment.
