Honda has put up a teaser on its website, one that has a silhouette of what looks like India's best-selling scooter, the Activa 6G. It also had ‘Coming Soon’ written on the top, indicating what could be the seventh generation of the scooter. That said, it could even be a new variant of the Activa 6G.
What Could It Get?
Though the Honda Activa has been one of India’s best-selling two-wheelers, there were some things we found missing on the scooter when we rode it.
The first update we hope the new scooter gets is a semi-digital instrument console at the least, if not a fully-digital one. What would make the deal even sweeter would be basic bluetooth connectivity, just like the Hero Pleasure Xtec. Interestingly Honda had equipped the Activa 5G with a semi-digital one, before going back in time and giving the 6G a fully analogue one.

Another major grouse we had with the Activa 6G was the lack of a disc brake at the front, even as an option. Through the new scooter, Honda could make amends by giving a disc brake up front, at least as an optional fitment. The LED headlight, which is only available on the Deluxe variant is also something that Honda could offer on this scooter as standard.
Honda might equip the upcoming scooter with alloy wheels too, something that the Activa 6G misses out on
With all these features, we’re yet to see what kind of approach Honda takes; whether they would launch a new variant with these bits or introduce a new 7G iteration.
If Honda equips the upcoming scooter with the above things, we expect it to carry a premium of Rs 4,000-5,000 over the Rs 72,400 price tag that the standard model of the Activa 6G carries.
