The 2021 model gets KTM 390 Duke-like styling along with a couple of more updates
- The 2021 KTM 125 Duke is more expensive than its predecessor by Rs 7,552.
- For the added premium, you get sportier bodywork, revised ergonomics, and a 2.5-litre bigger fuel tank.
- Powertrain remains unchanged, but suspension internals have been updated.
The 2021 KTM 125 Duke has been launched in India at Rs 1,50,010 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it Rs 7,552 more expensive than the previous-generation model. For this premium, the motorcycle has been updated with a sportier KTM 390 Duke-like styling, which, in turn, took inspiration from the bigger KTM 1290 Super Duke R.
Along with the new body panels, the fuel tank capacity has also gone up from 11 litres to 13.5 litres, which should ensure better range. The ergonomics have also been revised courtesy the new rider and pillion seat setup. KTM says the suspension (internals) has been updated at both ends. The bike now sports a 32mm WP inverted front fork with a triple-rate spring and a WP monoshock at the rear, with a double rate spring and a 10-step preload adjustment. All these changes have resulted in the weight going from 141.4kg (dry) in the older model to 159kg (kerb) in the new version.
Apart from the aforementioned updates, the rest of the mechanical bits have remained unchanged. The bike continues to use a 124.7cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that’s good for 14.5PS at 9,250rpm and 12Nm at 8000rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. Braking is via a 300mm front and a 230mm rear disc with a Bosch single-channel ABS. The bike is available in two colours: Electronic Orange & Ceramic White.
Overall, the 2021 KTM 125 Duke seems to be a good proposition only for a hardcore KTM fan, who wants to get into the Orange brigade under a tight budget. At Rs 1.5 lakh, the 125 Duke might be the most affordable KTM but it is still expensive in its segment. You can get its nearest rival, the Yamaha MT-15, for over Rs 10,000 less. The MT-15 is not only more affordable but also more powerful and feature-packed than the baby Duke. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

I got this bike back in 2019 when it was launched, I was beginner so my first choice was a bike with moderate power and torque and good ride comfort. So, I went through lot of options, FZ l, Apachi 160 and 200 , Classic 350 and Duke 200. I got my eye on FZ as it was very much beginner Friendly and it was pocket friendly too. I decided to book FZ but on the same day KTM dropped this Pocket Rocket duke 125 and obviously for me it was a show stopper, without any second thought I went through the specs sheet and boy oh boy it felt just like a match made from heaven. I went to showroom the very next morning and just booked my duke 125 and after a month I got the delivery and till after after 7 long years, I have regretted for one single day. Good quality and best feeling riding this Pocket Rocket. Total in 7 year's, I have rode 51,000 kms on odo where I have only used it for ride propose and not for commute purpose. The best thing about this is the ride comfort because of the posture and ride quality. I have done Pune - hyderabad - Pune in 24 hrs with 4 hrs of sleep. I have rode on different terrains and in every seasons and it has never disappointed me in any given situation. I love riding it everyday with or without luggage. It feels fun to ride. Of course, I recommend it to every college boy with no riding experience to start their journey with this bike as it offers good amount of power and torque and would help you to be a good and safe rider with it's features. It will fall you in love with the motorcycle world and also take you to the places you thought of riding once in your collage days. It also offer mileage of 40 kmpl which is also good as a beginner. It will help you understand many concepts of motorcycle rider which will help you in future when you upgrade to a high cc. Read More
