2019 Kawasaki Z650 Launched In India

This mid-displacement sports naked gets new graphics for the upcoming year

This mid-displacement sports naked gets new graphics for the upcoming year

Lately, Kawasaki India has been unveiling its 2019 range of motorcycles, which started off with the Ninja H2, ZX-10R, Versys 650 and Z900 range. Now, the Japanese manufacturer has announced the launch of the 2019 Z650, which receives minor updates in the form of a new paint option - Metallic Flat Spark Black/Metallic Spark Black - to keep it fresh. Priced at Rs 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the Z650 now commands a premium of Rs 10,000 over its predecessor.

Aside from the new paint option, the bike remains unchanged. The 2019 Z650 houses the same 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin motor as before. This engine produces 68PS of power at 8000rpm and 65.7Nm of torque at 6500rpm, and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.

Under the skin lies a frame that’s 15kg lighter than its predecessor and contributes to the bikes light and nimble handling. Up front, the bike uses conventional 41mm telescopic forks, while the rear gets a back-link monoshock with preload adjustability. Braking duties are handled by twin 320mm petal disc brakes at the front and a single 220mm disk brake at the rear. ABS is offered as standard. The bike gets a 15-litre fuel tank and an ‘eco’ ride indicator, which encourages the rider to ride more efficiently to get the most out of every drop of fuel.

The Kawasaki Z650 competes against the Harley-Davidson Street 750, Hyosung Aquila Pro 650 and the upcoming Royal Enfield 650 twins - the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Customers can head to their nearest dealership to book the bike or for any booking related queries.

Here’s the official statement from the manufacturer.

Worth every single penny

I am a huge fan of riding, and this bike delivers what almost every rider want , an aggressive approach and smooth handling. Just loved it , however, cost of maintenance and other stuff can get quiet expensive . If you are looking for an weekend kinda bike , then I'll recommend it but not for city (especially crowded cities like mumbai) where u hardly get good patch with low traffic , plus u will encounter speed breakers at the least expected place , so for everyday it's a NO. I cannot stress on how good it glides , even with heavy pillion . Overall a great package if your budget allows itRead More
