Yamaha Motor India- one of the two wheeler majors in India today unveiled its range of customised helmets for women and kids. This move comes at the onset of a new turning point in our traffic rules, when the country has finally made it mandatory for all women pillion riders in Delhi to wear helmets. Not ignoring the fact that the helmets are even more important for kids’ pillion riders, the company has tried to contribute and give a stylish option to their customers and their families. The new helmet products will be available at all Yamaha dealerships across the country with a price range between Rs. 990 and Rs. 1380. The new helmets were conceived and developed by Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd and certified ISI helmets are designed to suit and appeal to the kids and women in India.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Roy Kurian, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd, said, “The Delhi Government’s mandate for woman to wear helmets even as pillion riders; is indeed a welcome move. On day one of this move, we could see many women riders being fined and most of the women riders came up with excuses such as non-availability of helmets exclusively for women. Gauging the requirements, we are happy to introduce our new range of helmets meant exclusively for women.  As a socially responsible company, Yamaha has always given importance to road safety and has been conducting various programmes on traffic safety across the country for almost five years now. On this occasion, we’d also like to urge the government to make a start and make helmets mandatory for children as well.”

Range of Yamaha Helmets for Women and Kids:

Women’s Helmet Kids Helmet
ELMO (Gray, Light Pink and Dark Pink) at Rs. 1,175 Whiteknight at Rs. 1350
AVION(White & Blue Stripes, White & Tricolor, Perl White with Check) at Rs. 1,380 Blueking at Rs. 1350
COSMO(Red and Black) at Rs. 990 Blackstar at Rs. 1350

Yamaha’s focus on building road safety awareness is one of its key Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. The company currently conducts Yamaha Safe Riding Science (YSRS) for college students, Yamaha Female Riding Training (YFRT) for women, Yamaha Children Safety Program (YCSP) for school kids and Yamaha Drivers Safety Program (YDST) for truck drivers. The company has also introduced its Maiden Mascot – ‘Zippy’ to promote the Yamaha Children Safety Program (YCSP which is a first of its kind social initiative to educate and influence both parents and children about vital road safety measures). Through these initiatives, Yamaha strives to boost awareness among their customers on road safety and safety education, subsequently making the complete family safe.
