Yamaha Fluo vs Honda Grazia: Image Comparison

Here’s how the two 125cc scooters fare against each other in pics

Yamaha recently launched a new scooter named Fluo in Brazil. The Fluo is essentially the same scooter that’s present in the Indonesian market as the Yamaha FreeGo.. We pit it against the similarly specced Honda Grazia and find out how the two Japanese scooters stack up against each other through pictures:

The BS6 iteration of the Honda Grazia gets a sharper styling up front. A new, redesigned headlight along with a ‘jet-inspired’ tail light make its way to the Grazia. While it gets an LED headlight coupled with LED DRLs, it makes do with halogen indicators. The Fluo, in terms of its design, is identical to the FreeGo, getting an all LED lighting system. The key difference is that the Fluo gets separate turn indicators and brake lamps whereas the FreeGo features an integrated unit.

On the features front, the Fluo gets ABS as standard. It has a generous 25-litre under seat storage along with a USB charging socket. It also has a party trick up its sleeve in the form of keyless ignition.

The Grazia gets a fully digital instrument console that houses a tachometer, 3-step eco indicator and a mileage indicator apart from the regular trove of information. A bigger 5.3-litre tank against the Fluo's 4.2-litre one should ideally make the Grazia that much better for the longer journeys. Unfortunately, it doesn’t get ABS, not even as an accessory. That said, both the scooters miss out on smartphone connectivity.

The Honda Grazia is powered by a 124cc single, fuel-injected motor that churns out 8.25PS and 10.3Nm. The Yamaha Fluo, on the other hand, is equipped with a 125cc  single-cylinder engine that pumps out 9.6PS and 10.3Nm . The extra power on tap on the Fluo should translate to a better top end, at least on paper.

The Fluo comes equipped with telescopic forks at the front. The Grazia too, gets an underbone chassis with telescopic forks up front along with a 3-step adjustable, spring loaded hydraulic setup at the rear.

For the Fluo, braking is taken care of by a 200mm front unit along with a 130mm drum brake at the rear. It comes shod with 100/90-12 and 110/90-12 at the front and rear respectively.

The grazia on the other hand gets a 190mm disc for the front brake while the rear gets a 130mm drum brake. As to the tyres, it gets 90/90-12 at the front along with 90/100-10 at the rear. 

The Fluo retails at 13,390 Brazilian Reals, translating to about Rs 2,10,243, making it an extremely expensive proposition. Yamaha has no plans to bring it to India anyway. Starting at Rs 79,343 and going up to Rs 86,668 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Grazia, though lacking some features, makes a lot more sense.
