Yamaha Brazil has launched the 2022 Crosser dual-sport motorcycle in its domestic market. The motorcycle is available in two variants: Standard and Z. While this motorcycle is unlikely to come to our market, here’s why we still think it makes sense for India:
The Tried And Tested FZ Platform
The Yamaha Crosser is powered by the same 149cc air-cooled s2-valve single-cylinder engine that we have seen on the FZ-Fi and the FZ-X. In its ADV avatar, this engine produces 12.4PS at 7500rpm and 12.7Nm at 6000rpm. For reference, the FZ-FI makes 12.4PS at 7250rpm and 13.3Nm at 5500rpm.
The Crosser also utilises the same negative backlit instrument console which displays basic information like speedometer, tachometer, fuel indicator, two tripmeters, clock and a gear position indicator. Surprisingly, there’s no Bluetooth connectivity, even as an option, especially considering that this feature is available in India with the FZS-Fi and the FZ-X.

The Apt Beginner-friendly ADV
The Yamaha Crosser has everything that one would expect from a beginner-friendly adventure motorcycle. It features long-travel suspension with 180mm travel at the front and 160mm travel at the rear. The bike runs on a 19/17-inch wheel setup shod with dual-purpose tyres. Braking duties have been entrusted to disc brakes at both ends with the safety net of single-channel ABS.
The Yamaha Crosser is fairly light, tipping the scales at 137kg, however, its 845mm seat height is rather tall and could be daunting for new riders.
Aesthetically Pleasing Too
The biggest aesthetic update on the 2023 Yamaha Crosser is the new single-pod LED projector lamp. It is surrounded by LED DRLs on either side. This renders the motorcycle a very futuristic look. Furthermore, the minimal body panels and the high-mounted exhaust enhance its appeal.
The Yamaha Crosser retails for an equivalent of Rs 2.69 lakh for the ‘S’ variant while the ‘Z’ variant has a price tag of an equivalent of Rs 2.79 lakh in Brazil. Though this is certainly on the expensive side, we can expect it to be priced around Rs 1.15 lakh. However, unfortunately, Yamaha India is more likely to skip this product for our market, leaving the Hero XPulse 200 as the go-to option for amateur ADV enthusiasts.

It's a bike for long drive. Safety when it's comes to safety it's easy to handle and control. I have ride till now around 1500 Km. For me the mileage is around 47 to 50 kmpl. If you are safe riders then it will give you good mileage. Very comfortable in riding. Sitting is also very comfortable. I am very glad after purchasing this bike. Mileage is very good and it is very useful for students mainly college students those whom have very low pocket money. it's price is affordable for that person who wants to buy a sports bike and having budget of 1.50 lack definitely go with this bike. Bike is a 2022 model and is very comfortable driving within the city and also it has good torque and height clearance is also good, has bulit in bluetooth which adds a extra layer safety from theft. I chose Yamaha FZ due to the bike body style and of course for the Yamaha brand. The Bike comes with good mileage and riding on this bike is also comfortable. Exhaust sound is good and one thing about this bike which is different from other 150 cc bikes is the mileage and maintenance which is cost effective. Overall the ride is positive as the seats are comfortable within city ride. The long ride becomes difficult for the person who is seating on the back due to the seat density. Bike pickup is very poor, this is the biggest cons. If you are looking for a bike which gives you sporty look with great mileage then YES, Yamaha FZ V3 is the ultimate choice. But I would also recommend to check for other brands as well such as Honda and TVS.Read More
