According to the reports on a UK-based auto portal ‘MoreBikes’, Suzuki is working on a 1,400cc supercharged Hayabusa. The bike has reached a final stage of testing and is scheduled to be launched mid-2016. With this 1.4 liter machine, the company is expected to reclaim its title of being fastest accelerating motorcycle from the Kawasaki Ninja H2R.

During 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, Suzuki revealed white sculpture model based on the GSX concept that shows the design direction the next-generation GSX series would take. The design of the new Hayabusa seems to be drawn on the same concept. Soon after, the presentation images of the GSX project and three engines started to surface on the internet.

The current generation Suzuki Hayabusa or GSX 1300R is propelled by a 1300cc 4-Stroke, 4-Cylinder, Liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that develops a thumping power of 197bhp and 155Nm of peak torque. The bike claimed the title of fastest production motorcycle when it launched but the Kawasaki ZX-14R launched in 2007 snatched the title from the Suzuki Hayabusa and became the most powerful motorcycle with a top speed of 335 kmph. It is powered by a 1,441cc 4-stroke, Liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that puts out a maximum power of 197.3bhp at 10000 rpm and a peak torque of 158.2Nm at 7500 rpm.

If the reports are to be believed, the next generation Hayabusa has passed all the required tests and is ready to reach the production line.
