Ultraviolette F77 Superstreet vs F77 Mach 2: What's Different?

Ultraviolette Automotive has just launched the F77 Superstreet, which is basically the street oriented version of the F77 Mach 2 with a single-piece handlebar instead of clip-ons and a more upright seating posture. Let us explore in detail what all differences are there between the two:

Pricing

The F77 Superstreet comes at an introductory price of Rs 2,99,000. The Recon variant is expected to be priced higher and Ultraviolette has not announced the pricing yet. The F77 Mach 2 starts at the same Rs 2,99,000 price tag for the standard variant and the Recon is priced at Rs 3,99,000 (all prices ex-showroom). The price gap reflects the differences in battery size and range.

Design

When it comes to design and ergonomics, the Superstreet gets a more relaxed riding position, with a single-piece handlebar instead of the clip-ons on the Mach 2. This provides an upright posture, which is better suited for long distance touring and everyday comfort. Additionally, the Superstreet’s redesigned front panel should improve aerodynamics, reducing wind drag and improving high speed stability. In contrast, the F77 Mach 2 maintains a sportier and more aggressive stance, which is accentuated by the clip-on handlebars and sharp, aerodynamic body panels. This setup is designed for riders looking for a performance oriented, aggressive riding experience.

Powertrain

Both the Superstreet and the Mach 2 share battery setups, but with slight differences in range and performance. The Superstreet comes with a 7.1kWh battery that offers a claimed real world range of 211km on a full charge. The bike’s motor produces 36.2PS and 90Nm, allowing it to reach a top speed of 155 kmph, and accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 7.8 seconds. For riders looking for a higher range, the Recon variant gets a 10.3kWh battery and a range of 323km, along with a motor that produces 40.2PS and 100Nm. This variant is slightly quicker, with a 0 to 100kmph time of 7.7 seconds. Similarly, the Mach 2 also offers two variants: Standard and Recon, with the same 7.1kWh and 10.3kWh batteries. However, the Mach 2’s Standard variant delivers 36.7PS and 90Nm, while the Recon bumps up power to 40.2PS and 100Nm, offering the same performance figures as the Superstreet Recon, with a top speed of 155kmph and a 0 to 100kmph time of 7.7 seconds.

Underpinnings

In terms of chassis and suspension, both the Superstreet and Mach 2 feature the same setup, being built on a steel trellis frame and have an inverted telescopic fork, and a monoshock with pre-load adjustability. Braking is handled by a 320mm front and a 240mm rear disc, with 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. The base variant of both bikes weigh 197kg and 207kg for the Recon.

Features

Features wise, both offer the same full colour TFT display, three ride modes: Glide, Combat, and Ballistic, ride-by-wire throttle, smart regen braking, optional traction control, four level traction control, ten level regenerative braking, hill-hold assist, charge limit settings, park assist, and dynamic stability control. One of the standout additions to the Superstreet is its Type 2 charging interface, which allows the bike to be charged at public AC charging stations, making long distance rides much more convenient.

While both Ultraviolette bikes are direct competitors in the high-performance electric motorcycle segment, the Superstreet is more oriented towards those looking for a comfortable and practical ride, whereas the Mach 2 caters more to those seeking an aggressive, performance machine. Both bikes could be considered alternatives to petrol powered motorcycles like the KTM Duke 390 and RC 390, TVS Apache RR310 and RTR310. The Superstreet will be available for bookings starting February 1, 2025 and deliveries are expected to begin in March 2025.
