Here are five things you need to know about the TVS Star City Plus if you’re planning on getting one

The TVS Star City Plus has been competing in the 110cc segment for a while and still stands strong. It received an update in September 2019 which gave it a couple of extra features and colours to choose from which makes it a compelling proposition. And if you’re itching to get one, here are five things you need to know about the TVS Star City Plus.

Comes packed with features:

The biggest highlight for the 110cc commuter is its semi-digital instrument console which features a service reminder and an econometer which helps you modulate the throttle for better fuel efficiency. Adding to its overall appeal are a pair of dual-tone mirrors, blacked-out alloy wheels and honeycomb textured grills on the side panels.

Variants:

The TVS Star City Plus is offered in two variants - standard and dual-tone. The former comes with six different shades to choose from while the latter gets five.

Decent performance:

Powering the bike is a 109.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled mill that produces 8.4PS of power at 7000rpm and 8.7Nm of peak torque at 5000rpm. The motor works in conjunction with a 4-speed transmission.

Underpinnings:

In terms of underpinnings, the commuter uses a single cradle frame suspended of a conventional telescopic fork and a twin shock setup at the rear with 5 step adjustability. Bringing the bike to a halt are drum brakes at both ends paired with SBT (Synchronized Braking Technology). Its 17-inch wheels come wrapped in a 2.75-section front and 3.00-section rear tyre. It weighs in at 109kg (kerb).

How much does it cost?

You can buy the TVS Star City Plus for a starting price of Rs 52,407. The more premium Dual Tone SBT variant, on the other hand, retails at Rs 55,034. It competes against the Bajaj Discover 110 CBS and the more affordable the Honda Dream Yuga.
