Triumph Bonneville Bobber Bookings Commence

The Bonneville Bobber is expected to be launched by the end of March or mid-April 2017
Triumph Motorcycles unveiled the Bonneville Bobber in London in October last year and it was only a matter of time that the Bobber would make way here. Looks like the Bobber will be coming sooner than expected with Triumph sharing a teaser video of the Bonneville Bobber on their India website. A word with the dealerships confirmed that the Bobber will indeed hit showroom floors by the end of march or mid-April. A few dealerships have started accepting bookings for the Bonneville Bobber - an amount of Rs 2 lakh. Once launched, the bikes will be delivered to prospective customers within 10 days once full payment is done.
The Triumph Bonneville Bobber can be termed as a factory-customised Bonneville. It is a stripped down Bonneville T120 and gets retro design elements to complete the old-school look. Striking design elements are the floating aluminium single seat pan, twin slash cut peashooter exhausts and the hard tail look. The motorcycle gets new chassis and suspension geometry, new bubble tank, a custom battery box and an adjustable riding position.
The Bobber gets the T120's 1200cc parallel-twin which makes 77PS @ 6100 rpm and 106Nm of torque @ 4000 rpm. It gets two riding modes - road and rain; switchable traction control and a torque-assist clutch. Suspension-wise, the Bonneville Bobber gets KYB 41mm telescopic forks with 90mm travel and KYB monoshock with 76.9mm travel. The Bobber gets 21-inch front and 16-inch rear retro looking Avon Cobra tyres which look the part while offering the performance expected from today's bikes.
Braking duties are handled by a single 310mm disc upfront with Nissin twin-piston floating callipers and a 255mm disc at the rear with a Nissin single piston caliper. ABS is standard.
While the price is yet to be announced, we expect it to be positioned between the Triumph Bonneville T120 and the Thruxton R. We expect the Bobber to be priced around Rs 10 lakh on-road.
