    Quick News Highlights:

    • KTM 390 Enduro R specifications revealed

    • It will be launching soon in India

    • Shares parts with 390 Adventure and Duke 390

KTM has officially unveiled the specifications of the much awaited 390 Enduro R, an off-road oriented bike more hardcore than the 390 Adventure. The bike was originally revealed at EICMA, Italy 2024 and showcased at India Bike Week (IBW) 2024 as well.

    What is an Enduro Bike?

An enduro bike is designed for long distance off-road riding, being basically a street legal dirt bike for the road. These bikes are built to handle challenging terrains like dirt tracks, sand, gravel, and rocky terrain. Enduro bikes feature long suspension travel, high ground clearance, and off-road tyres to help tackle difficult riding conditions. They are generally lightweight, rugged, durable and have minimal body panels, so it is cheaper to replace parts in case of a fall.

    Engine

The 390 Enduro R features a 399cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers 44.8PS, 39Nm, and is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. The engine is shared with the upcoming 390 Adventure line-up and the Duke 390, but the power figure has changed (1.2PS less in the Enduro).

    Underpinnings

The Enduro R has a very tall seat height of 890mm (90mm more than the Duke 390), a huge ground clearance of 272mm (Duke 390 has 183mm), a smaller 9-litre fuel tank capacity (15-litres on the Duke) and weighs 159kg without fuel. The fully adjustable WP Apex suspension has 230mm of suspension travel at both ends (Duke has 150mm of travel). The front suspension has settings for rebound and compression, while the rear suspension has pre-load and rebound adjustability.

Just like the 390 Adventure S, it gets a 21-inch wheel with a 90-section tyre, and an 18-inch wheel (both spoke wheels) with a 140-section tyre at the rear. The Duke has 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. It has a wheel-base of 1475mm (more than 100mm longer than the Duke). All of these contribute to making the bike more off-road capable than the 390 Adventure. The braking setup consists of a 285mm front and a 240mm rear disc.

    Features

The bike gets all-LED lighting and a 4.2-inch colour TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, music controls, and app integration. The motorcycle also has a dedicated ABS on/off switch, which can deactivate ABS on both ends. Switching off the ABS prevents the wheels from locking-up during braking, which is actually required in off-road conditions.

    BikeDekho Says

The Enduro category of bikes is completely new to our country, and the introduction of this bike at a competitive price will give Indian riders the opportunity to experience high performance off-roading. KTM did the same in the sub-400cc naked streetfighter segment with the first-generation 390 Duke, when it was introduced back in 2012. This motorcycle is set to hit the Indian market in late January 2025, with deliveries expected to begin in February. Bookings had already commenced in December 2024 and it is expected to be priced around the Rs 3.30 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.

      Enduro R review
surprisingly capable on the road, especially on twisty tarmac often surprising sportbike riders. It can maintain highway speeds well but its dirt-bike roots mean long highway rides can be less comfortable due to wind firm seats and some engine vibrations More approachable, manageable, and easier to handle for less-experienced off-road riders. Excellent chassis/suspension.but can feel heavy and bottom out on the shock in very rough.aggressive terrain compared to dirt bike I want to say anything best mileage best performance what you need apart from that best bike i ever ride the aggressive bike especially on twisty tarmac often surprising sportbike ridervibrations engien

Like I'm belonging from jharkhand state, here we don't have good road so I'll surely going to buy this bike so i can enjoy ride and this is also comfortable for me .
