The bike finally gets a much-needed update in line with KTM’s current design language
- The updated model will be BS6-compliant.
- Power output may vary thanks to an updated cat-con and ECU.
- It retains its underbelly exhaust.
- Bookings for the 2020 KTM 200 Duke have commenced for a token amount of Rs 5,000.
Looks like the Austrian bikemaker has finally paid some attention to the much-loved KTM 200 Duke that helped it gain some footing in India. The 2020 200 Duke has been updated with an all-new look that helps it look more like the 250 Duke. Although, it does get distinct paint schemes along with a couple of mechanical differences to set it apart from its elder sibling. Dealers suggest the update amounts to an increment of Rs 5,000 over the BS4 model. Unofficial bookings for the streetfighter have commenced for a nominal amount of Rs 5,000.
The KTM 200 Duke gets a new design, which helps it look more in tune with KTM’s current design language. It features a halogen headlamp flanked by LED DRLs, rather than the full-LED unit on the 390 Duke. The digital instrument console and the underbelly exhaust remain unchanged. Thanks to the updates, the bike now looks different from the 125 Duke.

In terms of its powertrain, it'll continue using the same 199.5cc fuel-injected liquid-cooled engine. However, the bike’s power figure may vary considering it will be BS6 compliant. Essentially, the updated ECU and catalytic converter will help the engine put out lower tailpipe emissions. A direct result of this is power difference, which means the 200 Duke may either put out lower or higher power figures compared to the BS4 model, which currently makes 25PS of power and 19.2Nm of torque. We’d like to clarify that the brand hasn’t released any official specs of the 2020 KTM 200 Duke.

Underpinnings are likely to remain unchanged as well. From the looks of it, its suspension setup includes the same WP upside fork and monoshock as the BS4 model. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends paired with a new dual-channel ABS setup.
Once launched, the 2020 KTM 200 Duke will take to the fighting ring once again against rivals like the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the Bajaj NS200.
