Does the 200 Duke not catch your fancy even after this comprehensive update? Here are your other options

KTM finally gave its famous 200 Duke a much needed revamp recently, the first one since its launch way back in 2012. The update brought with it refreshed looks and underpinnings, but all of that resulted in a price hike up to Rs 1,72,749. So, if the little orange missile still doesn’t quite suit your fancy, what else can you get for similar money?

Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP

At Rs 1,71,456, the top-of-the-line Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP is marginally more affordable than the bike from Mattighofen. For this, you get a full fairing, LED lighting and 25 per cent more displacement!

It’s got slightly higher engine output than the KTM as a result, and the race-y paint scheme is sure to turn heads at traffic lights too!

Husqvarna 250cc Twins

If you’re looking to shun all the mainstream options in the market, the recently introduced Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250 could be just the thing for you.

They’re stylish, they’re cool, they’re quirky, and, at an introductory price of just Rs 1,80,000, they’re rather excellent value for money. The only question is, cafe racer or neo scrambler?

Royal Enfield Classic 350 BS6

In its dual-channel ABS variant, the Gunmetal Grey colour option of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 BS6 will set you back by Rs 1,69.791. But who can put a price on legacy and heritage?

The 346cc UCE motor has recently been updated to BS6 and sounds like it’s still got oodles of character. If you’re interested in making a statement without setting the streets on fire, this is the bike for you.

Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6

At the opposite end of the focus spectrum from the 200 Duke lies the Royal Enfield Himalayan. Its BS6 iteration will cost you Rs 1,86,811 in Snow White or Granite Black. We’ve fortunately also had a chance to ride the new bike recently.

The Swiss Army Knife of motorcycles, the trusty Himalayan will handle just about everything you throw at it. Just like the advert says - built for all roads, built for no roads.
