Honda motors to establish second plant

World's largest auto major, Honda Motorcycle and scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said on Tuesday, the company intends to assemble a second bikes production plant in the country. Honda Bike India will mark a total investment of Rs. 4.7 billion ($103 million) with an annual capacity of manufacturing 600,000 units of bikes. HMSI's second plant would be finally operational from the second half of next year. The company's current capacity is at 1.25 million units. Honda Motors is growing its existing capacity to 1.55 million units by the end of this month, it said in the statement. After calculating the overall production capacity of the company, it means Honda Motors will get soon a strong position in the auto market over other competitors. After establishing a new plant by the company, it is expected that the production and sales will touch a top level of the market's ratio. Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto has re-launched its premium segment bike 'New Bajaj Platina 125cc' in India.
