Honda Hornet 2.0: Which Colour To Pick?
Which shade makes this handsome new motorcycle look most striking?
Which shade makes this handsome new motorcycle look most striking?
In the past, Honda has been a little too conservative with its styling but of late, bikes like the XBlade and CB Hornet 160R have packed a lot of flair into their designs. Taking things one step further still is the brand new Hornet 2.0, with a very handsome and modern look. But to get the best out of any design, it has to be painted in the right shade. So which colour is best for you?
Pearl Igneous Black
The Hornet's brochure features two sobre colours and two flashy ones. This simple black colour scheme is the simplest of the lot, and it is the best option for you if anonymity is your aim. The engine area is also finished in black, leading to a dark overall theme, but red stickering and spark plug cap, and silver fins on the engine throw in a dash of contrast to form a well-rounded overall appearance.
Matte Axis Grey Metallic
If you don't want something quite so dark, but still don't want anything flashy, then this matte grey option is a great middle ground. It brings out the lines beautifully on the sharp and stylish tank extensions, and also goes well with the matte grey bits like the exhaust system and mid-flank body panels. Just bear in mind that you won't be able to use traditional polish and wax on this matte paint.
Matte Sangria Red Metallic
And now we finally get started with the more flamboyant colour options. First up is this lovely red scheme that goes very, very well with the grey bits on the bike. The scarlet red belly pan does a great job of breaking the monotony in the engine bay region and the red rim tape is a thoughtful touch that really completes this look.
Matte Marvel Blue Metallic
The best choice for Hornet buyers in our opinion is this youthful Azure blue colour scheme. It looks fresh and grabs your attention but without trying too hard or being in-your-face. The blue shade also matches beautifully with the golden upside down fork, and we're not surprised that this is the colour that is most prominently featured in Honda's advertising campaign.
