A day before, Bajaj unveiled its all new Discover 125 ST commuter bike and today its the chance of Honda to hit the bike market with its Honda Dream Yuga which is a 110cc motorcycle announced during the Auto Expo 2012. With the tagline 'Ek naya yug, ek naya dream', HMSI intends to make Dream Yuga, a dream of every bike lover, a mass market motorcycle with an affordable price tag of Rs. 44,642. The stylish looks of this bike are minimalistic and conservative to attract the mass segment buyers and it claims to to be the most maintenance free motorcycle in the commuter bike segment.
The base variant of Dream Yuga becomes the cheapest bike of Honda which has kick start and spoke wheels, while the mid variant with kick start and alloy wheels is priced at Rs. 46,134 whereas the electric start variant with alloy wheels is available for Rs. 48,125, drum brakes are provided for all variants and the bike is targeting the youth that falls in the age group of 25-29 years. The charismatic actor, Akshay Kumar, is the brand ambassador of Honda Dream Yuga.
Honda Dream Yuga comes with a 110 cc single cylinder, air cooled engine, capable of producing a peak power of 8.5 BHP at 7500 RPM and a maximum torque of 9 Nm @ 6000 RPM, which is attached to a 4-speed manual gear box. Feature-rich, Honda Dream Yuga boasts of a long seat, full chain cover, heel-toe gear shift lever and tubeless tyres as option and comes with Telescopic Fork for front suspension with 110 drum brakes and Coil Spring rear suspension with 110 mm drum brakes.
The commuter bike claims to be a fuel efficient vehicle which provides a mileage of 72 kmpL and it also includes an intelligent ignition control system wich works according to the increased torque load. Available in five vibrant colors and three variants, Honda Dream Yuga will get neck to neck competition from Bajaj New Discover which has 125 cc engine, Hero Passion Pro, Splendor Pro and Yamaha YBR.
