Confused between the Standard and Deluxe variant? We help you make a more informed decision

Honda has finally launched the Dio BS6 with a host of improvements over the previous model. Like the Dio BS4, the Honda Dio BS6 comes in two variants: Standard and Deluxe. We explain what each variant is all about:

Standard Variant:

The Honda Dio BS6 Standard variant is priced at Rs 59,990, making it Rs 5,749 dearer than the BS4-compliant model. The Standard variant comes with a silent start system which ensures the engine cranks up quickly and silently. Apart from the fuel-injected BS6-compliant motor, it also gets an external fuel filler and an engine kill switch.

Since it is a base variant, Honda has equipped the scooter with a halogen headlamp and an analogue instrument cluster with just the essential trove of information like speed, fuel level odometer readings and tell-tale lights. Honda also provides an optional side-stand engine kill feature (for both variants). The steel wheels are finished in black across all the colour variants under the Standard range. The base variant comes in grey, blue, orange and red colours.

Deluxe Variant:

The Honda Dio BS6 Deluxe model comes with all the features of the standard version and in addition, it also gets a full-LED headlamp and more importantly, a fully digital instrument cluster. The console shows real-time and average mileage like the one in the Activa 125 BS6. Interestingly, this feature is absent even in the slightly more expensive Activa 6G. It also comes with a 3-step Eco indicator which gives you a fair idea about how efficiently you ride.

Unfortunately, even this variant manages with steel wheels. We’d have liked it if Honda had offered alloy wheels in the Deluxe version. Although, for a more premium appeal, the wheels are finished in gold colour. The Deluxe variant will set you back by Rs 63,340 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is Rs 3,350 dearer than the base Standard variant. Overall, the premium is justifiable considering you get a host of practical features over the standard model.  It is available in grey, dual-tone yellow, and dual-tone metallic red.
