Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is preparing the launch of their most awaited new sports bike CBR 150R in India. The launch is scheduled for next month. This bike will be launched in competition with KTM Duke 200, a subsidiary brand of Bajaj Auto. Honda CBR 150R is priced at Rs. 115,000 in competition with KTM Duke selling at Rs. 117,000. The bike will also give a tough competition to Yamaha R15 sports bike, which after recent facelift sells at Rs. 107,000. The bike was displayed by HMSI in Auto Expo last month. The company hasn’t revealed any details regarding the price of the bike in the Auto Expo. The bike is fully manufactured in India and is one of the most awaited bike by sports bike lovers. The company is expecting the sales of more than 3500 units per month after the launch.
Honda CBR 150R is powered via DOHC 4-valve, single-cylinder 150 cc water-cooled engine with balance shaft delivering 17.6 bhp power along with 12.6 Nm torque. The bike is integrated with six-speed manual transmission. The bike is provided with telescopic fork suspension in front and powerful monoshock swingarm in rear. Keeping in account, the incredible pick up, the bike is provided with disc brakes at both front and rear wheels. Further, the bike comes with digital speedometer and fuel gauge, the tacho-meter is analog. This bike will be the third launch of this year by the company. The facelifted Dio with new engine was launched this month and the facelifted version of Honda CBR 250R is scheduled to launch by the end of this month. Honda Motorcycles is basically a Japan-based company. The company is globally reputed to manufacture high performance bikes. In India also, Honda Motorcycles has excellent reputation to manufacture bikes with excellent performance, high-fuel efficiency and long life engines. These two models of Honda CBR 250 are more than 10 years old in world market, but at the same time other sports bike models like R 15, Kawasaki Ninja 250R etc are much recent models in world market. Price wise Kawasaki Ninja 250 is about double than CBR 250 (Rs.1,50,000) and power wise Honda is on higher side with 45PS when Ninja is 33ps. However after CBR 250 comes to Indian market within Rs.1,50,000 (probably ex. showroom) Kawasaki Ninja has to drop their price.
