The special edition Honda CB Hornet 160R gets new colours and body graphics and is available with Striking Green and Mars Orange decals.

Honda CB Hornet 160R Special Edition Launched

Adding a little more excitement to its popular 160cc motorcycle, Honda has launched a special edition of the CB Hornet 160R in India. The new edition gets a new paint scheme and is available in both the standard and CBS variants. It has been priced at Rs 81,413 for the standard trim and Rs 85,912 (both ex-showroom, Delhi) for the CBS trim. That means the special edition costs around Rs 980 extra over the single-tone colour options, which are still on offer alongside.

The Honda CB Hornet 160R Special Edition gets an all-matte black theme along with contrast decals and wheel pinstripe, and is available in Striking Green and Mars Orange colour options. Apart from the cosmetic updates the bike remains unchanged and there are no mechanical updates. It continues to take power from the BSIV compliant single-cylinder air-cooled 162.71cc engine, which comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. With a carburettor type fuel system, the motor makes 15.88PS at 8,500rpm and delivers 14.76Nm of torque at 6,500rpm.

Bolted on a diamond type frame, the Honda CB Hornet 160R gets beefy 41mm telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock rear suspension. The bike runs on stylish split-spoke alloy wheels and gets a wide 140/70 section rear tyre. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both the ends in the CBS (Combi-Braking System) trim, while the standard trim gets a drum unit at the rear. The other highlight features complimenting the styling of the bike include the all-digital instrument console, X-shaped LED tail light, muscular tank and much more.

The direct rivals of the bike are the Yamaha FZ-S V2.0, Suzuki Gixxer, Bajaj Pulsar AS150 and Hero Xtreme Sports. However, the Honda CB Hornet 160R is now ready to handle the fierce competition in the upcoming festive season with its Special Edition.
