Hero Xtreme 125R: Features Explained

This 125cc bike has a feature that some expensive bikes also don’t get

The Hero Xtreme 125R not only performs well, but also has some segment-leading features. This makes it one of the easiest choices in the 125cc sporty commuter segment. Being a Hero bike, it has a good service backup with easily available and affordable spares. All of that makes it a compelling rival in its segment. If you are planning to buy one, here’s all the features that the bike has.

Convenience Features

The Xtreme 125R gets ride-by-wire, which connects the throttle to the engine using an electronic wire instead of the traditional mechanical cable. This not only allows for a more accurate throttle response, but also for a couple of interesting electronic rider aids. The first one being 3 riding modes - Eco, Road, and Power - which change the throttle response and affect the bike’s mileage.

The second feature that ride-by-wire allows for is cruise control. That makes it the second bike in the 125cc segment (after the Glamour X 125) to get the feature. We have compared the two Hero 125cc bikes to help you pick the best one.

It gets a 4.2-inch colour LCD console which has a speedometer, odometer, tachometer, multiple trip meters, gear position indicator and more. The console has app-based smartphone connectivity for call & SMS alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, and phone battery status.

The Xtreme 125R is equipped with all-LED lighting, and has an idle stop-start system which automatically turns the engine off after idling for 30 seconds. To restart the engine, you just need to pull in the clutch lever.

Safety Features

The base variant of Xtreme 125R comes with a combined braking system that engages the front brake when the rear brake is applied. The mid variants get single-channel ABS, which prevents the front wheel from locking up under hard braking conditions. The top variant has dual-channel ABS.

Also, this Xtreme has an emergency braking alert that flashes the rear indicators when brakes are applied hard. Other safety features are a side-stand engine cut-off and a hazard lamp.

The Hero Xtreme 125R is available in four variants, and offers different features depending on the variant you pick. They're also available in a variety of colour schemes.

BikeDekho Says

The Hero Xtreme 125R is priced from Rs 89,300 to Rs 1,05,500 (ex-showroom). This allows buyers to choose a set of features that fit their budget. It is one of the most fun 125cc motorcycles, and offers good value for money. You may also modify your Xtreme 125R with a whole bunch of official accessories.
