Since its launch back in 2019, the Hero XPulse 200 has proved to be a seasoned off-road-oriented motorcycle as well as a decent tourer. However, it did have a few chinks in its armour and the most evident one was the lack of outright performance. But the company has launched the updated XPulse 200 4V which packs a bit more than its predecessor and here’s what it’s about.
More Power
As mentioned earlier, the 200cc oil-cooled motor tends to run out of steam rather quickly with its 2-valve cylinder head. So Hero has now changed it to a 4-valve setup, bumping the power up to 19.1PS and 17.35Nm, an increase of 1.02PS and 0.9Nm over the previous model.

The XPulse 200 4V continues to use the 5-speed gearbox but the gear ratios have also been altered for improved acceleration. The Hero XPulse 200 4V uses a new 7 fin oil cooler to keep the motor running at an optimal temperature.
A Bit Taller
Hero claims the XPulse 200 4V’s seat profile has been modified for more comfort. This has also led to an increase of 2mm, with the overall seat height becoming 825mm.
More Features
Apart from the motor, Hero has also updated the bike with an integrated starter and kill switch. The company also claims to have updated the LED headlight for better illumination. It retains the Bluetooth connectivity provision and the turn by turn navigation feature as well.
Same Underpinnings
Hero MotoCorp hasn’t tinkered at all with the underpinnings. The XPulse 200 4V rides on the same 21-inch front and the 18-inch rear spoked wheel. The suspension setup too remains the same -- a telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. The 276mm front and the 220mm rear disc setup has also been retained. You can bump up the XPulse 200 4V’s off-road capabilities by adding the Rally Kit that’s priced at Rs 46,000,
Price
All the said updates have brought a price bump of Rs 5,000 and the Hero XPulse 200 4V now costs Rs 1,28,150 (ex-showroom, Delhi). In theory, the premium seems worth the updates but how much of a difference does it make in the real world? Well, that’s something we’ll comment on after riding the bike.

- comfortable for off road and cityI’ve been using this bike for the last 3 years, and overall, I’m very happy with it. It’s a great choice for both city rides and off-roading. The mileage and maintenance costs are good, and the suspension is excellent for potholes and rough Indian roads. The main drawbacks are engine heating during hilly rides and some fatigue on rides over 200 km in a day. Overall, a comfortable, reliable, and capable off-road bike. - Best in the segment.Fabulous bike for people who commutes daily and also for long rides. This bike goes everywhere, does everything. Great mileage, works great on highways and off roads. Top speed of this bike is 130 kmph. Comfortable to ride, easy to handle in traffic. This bike have all good features. Must buy and comes under budget also. ABS also works like a charm of this bike. - Hero x pulse 200 4V review after 22000 kmsI am five eleven and it suits me for my height. Comfort of a rider not a pillion and mileage is a plus for this bike. Maintenance cost is also very good and cheap you can get service done from any of the authorised hero service centres. I have been driving since almost twenty two thousand kilometres so far and im fully satisfied with the performance of this bike. I just changed chain socket and fuel motor in the fuel tank. Ride comfort is very good for rider not for pillion thats only negative. Yes I would definitely recommend this bike to those who have height above five eight. - Best choice for Bad Roads and Daily Use.I chose Hero Xpulse 200 4V for its comfort on bad roads while still being easy to ride daily. The suspension works great on potholes, the engine is smooth for city rides, and maintenance stays affordable. Ride quality has been comfortable so far, especially on rough roads. Mileage is decent for daily use, handling feels light and confident, and while top speed isn't aggressive it's stable and relaxed at cruising speeds. Yess -- I'd recommend it for daily riders who want comfort on rough roads, easy handling in traffic, good mileage and reliable performance.
