Not too sure about the BS6 Splendor iSmart? Here are a few other options

The Hero Splendor iSmart is the first BS6-compliant motorcycle from the Indian bike maker. If a 110cc motorcycle from Hero MotoCorp isn’t your cup of tea, let us show you what you can get for the price of the BS6 Splendor iSmart

1: TVS NTorq 125 Race Edition (Rs 64,925):

For the same price, you can have the top-spec TVS NTorq 125 Race Edition, which was launched a few months back. Thanks to the new red and black paint scheme, the Race Edition looks sportier compared to the other variants. It is also one of the most feature-rich scooters out there. You get a hazard lamp, a digital instrument console, and Bluetooth connectivity. If you’re looking for a sporty scooter, this is your best bet.

2: Honda SP125 (Rs 72,900):

We rode the new Honda SP125 recently, and were pretty pleased with what Honda is offering. The SP125 is now more powerful, torquier and lighter than its predecessor, the CB Shine SP. It also comes with the same ACG starter as seen on the Activa 125. But the only niggle here is that the price range that we are looking at allows us to add the drum brake variant only. The top-end disc brake variant is also on offer, but it is priced at Rs 77,100 (ex-showroom).

3: Honda Activa 125 Drum Alloy (Rs 70,990):

Prefer a more family-oriented scooter? That’s where the new Activa 125 comes in. The Activa 125 works brilliantly inside the concrete jungle. So, if you want a premium scooter that comes with segment-first features and if sportiness isn’t your priority, the Activa 125 may fit your bill perfectly.

4: Suzuki Access BS6 (Rs 69,500):

We haven’t tested the BS6 Suzuki Access 125 yet, but we are quite sure it will have similar performance compared to the older model. This neo-retro scooter from Suzuki has managed to give its competitors a tough fight from day one. In fact, it even won our scooter comparo. We recommend the Access 125 for its proper mix of performance and practicality.

5: Yamaha Fascino 125 (Rs 68,930):

Yamaha has entered the 125cc scooter segment with two scooters: the Fascino 125 and the Ray ZR 125. While the former is on sale now, the latter will be launched in a few weeks. Apart from the new features and more power, the highlight of the Fascino is that it weighs just 99kg, which makes it pretty easy to manage in and around the city.
