May slot in the 350 to 650cc premium bike segment

Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davison are working together on a middleweight premium motorcycle platform. Moreover, Hero has also confirmed that this platform is in its advanced stages of development, with the first bike from this collaboration set to launch by March 2024.

The 350-650cc bike segment in India has seen massive growth in the past few years, and to cater to that spark in interest, manufacturers are collaborating to come out with something premium yet on the more affordable side. Case in point, the Triumph-Bajaj bike. So could Hero and H-D do the same thing? That would most certainly make the upcoming bike the most affordable Harley offering in the country.

But coming back to the meat of the matter, both bike brands will jointly develop a modular platform. However, we expect Hero and H-D to make multiple bikes on this platform that may be sold independently under both brands.

Interestingly, H-D and Hero joined hands in 2020, when the Milwaukee-based brand shut operations in India and the Splendor maker planned on entering the premium bike segment. Currently, Hero handles the sales and servicing of H-D in India.

Hero is also working on its all-new 400cc platform with the Hero XPulse 400 and Xtreme 400S, which have been spied a couple of times in India.
