Ducati Scrambler 1100 BS6 India Launch Date Announced

Ducati has revealed the launch date of its second BS6-compliant motorcycle for the Indian market, the Scrambler 1100. It will be launched on September 22, 2020. We believe the Italian manufacturer may offer both the 1100 Pro and the 1100 Sport Pro variants for India. Prices are expected to start from around Rs 12 lakh and Rs 13.5 lakh respectively (all prices, ex-showroom).
Ducati’s Scrambler 1100 range uses a 1079cc air-cooled, L-twin motor. Interestingly, the Pro variant has been tuned for better torque output, with 90.5Nm at 4750rpm and 84.7PS at 7250rpm on tap. The Sport Pro variant, on the other hand, is more power-biased, with 85.65PS at 7500rpm and 88Nm at 4750rpm. The engine continues to work alongside a hydraulically actuated 6-speed transmission with slipper clutch.
Both variants come with a fully digital instrument cluster. The exhaust layout is now stacked on one side, and new colour schemes have been added as a part of the Euro 5/BS6 update. In terms of electronics, the two variants offer three riding modes (Active, Journey and City), Ducati Traction Control (DTC), and cornering ABS as standard.
From a hardware standpoint, the Pro variant comes equipped with a 45mm Marzocchi fully adjustable USD fork and a Kayaba monoshock with preload and rebound adjustability. The Sport Pro model uses a 48mm fully adjustable USD fork and an Ohlins rear monoshock, which is adjustable for preload and rebound. More on hardware here. The two models also differ in terms of ergos. The Pro variant, for instance, gets an easy-to-reach, wide handlebar while the Sport Pro features a lowered handlebar with cafe racer-style bar-end mirrors.
The BS6 Ducati 1100 range will compete with the Triumph Scrambler 1200.
