It will be the third Ducati bike to be powered by a V4 engine

Ducati will soon be expanding its V4 product portfolio. The Italian brand has teased its upcoming four-cylinder bike on its social media accounts. The Ducati Multistrada V4 will make its global debut on October 15. The upcoming motorcycle is among the worst kept secrets in the two-wheeler industry as the pre-production prototype has been spotted on multiple occasions. The Multistrada V4 will be the third Ducati offering to feature a V4 engine after the Ducati Panigale V4 and the Ducati Streetfighter V4.

From the spy shots, we can figure out that Ducati designers haven't deviated much from the Multisrada’s design language. However, the LED headlight and the fairing have been tweaked to differentiate the upcoming bike. Also, the rear subframe has been completely redesigned. We expect it to carry forward the TFT instrument console seen on the Ducati Multistrada 1260.

The Multistrada V4 will be powered by the same 1,103cc engine seen on Panigale V4 and the manic Streetfighter V4. The V4 motor is rated at 211PS and 123Nm on the Streetfighter and if the same power output is maintained on the Multistrada V4, it will be the most powerful production ADV bike. Like the Multistrada 1260, Ducati is likely to offer the new ADV motorcycle in two variants: standard and S variant. The Multistrada V4 S will get additional goodies such as electronically adjustable suspension and a host of additional electronic aids with cornering ABS being standard.

The Multistrada V4 will be an important bike for the Italian marque as it will help expand sales of its V4 powerplant. Whether Ducati will continue to produce the Multistrada 1260 in the future or give it the axe is something we will have to wait and watch. As for its India operations, Ducati recently launched the Scrambler 1100 and its next offering for our market could be the BS6 Multistrada 950.
