    Overview

June 14, 2017: Ducati India has launched the Multistrada 950 at Rs 12.6 lakh (ex-Delhi). These are introductory prices. The 950 will be the most affordable and most accessible bike Multistrada from Ducati. The Multistrada 950 comes with a 937cc L-twin engine good for 113PS and 96.2Nm of torque. We expect the Multistrada 950 to carry a price tag of around Rs 12 lakhs when launched. The Multistrada 950 will face competition from the Triumph Tiger 800,  Kawasaki Versys 1000 and Suzuki V-Strom.

    Design

In terms of styling, the Multistrada 950 follows the Multistrada lineage though it has been designed to look less intimidating than the 1200cc versions. One way to differentiate the Multistrada 950 from its larger cousins is the exhaust. The 950 gets a single exhaust compared to the twin stacked ones on its larger 1200cc cousins. The frame too misses out on the red paint job that the 1200 gets. Seat height is 840mm while kerb weight is 229 kilos. Keeping with its Adventure Tourer focus, the fuel tank capacity is a high 20-litres.

    Features

The Multistrada 950 gets a 3-level ABS system. Level 1 is for off-road use where ABS to the rear wheel is off and rear wheel lift is off. Level 2 is the sporty mode with ABS active on both the wheels and rear wheel anti-lift deactivated. Level 3 is the normal mode with ABS active on both wheels and rear wheel lift-up prevention active as well.

    Engine, Mileage & Performance

The Hypermotard 950 gets a 937cc L-twin engine which is the same as the Hypermotard. The Multistrada 950, however, gets revised cylinder heads. The motor in a different state of tune now makes 113PS @ 9000rpm and 96.2Nm of torque @ 7750rpm which is 1Nm less than the Hypermotard. The bike gets 8-level traction control, ABS and four riding modes - Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro.

    Handling & Ride Quality

For braking, the Multistrada 950 gets dual 320mm discs clamped with Brembo monobloc calipers up front and a 265mm disc with a 2-piston caliper at the rear. ABS is standard. The bike gets 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres. The bike gets fully adjustable 48mm KYB upside-down forks at the front while the rear has a fully-adjustable Sachs monoshock damper.

      Crazy Ride
Just took a ride of the 950 S over Multistrada V2 bcoz I thought about the size and agility but the 950 s looks stylish and its performance is so good without engine stress I feel riding more comfortably even if it is like the other Ducati bikes named for the speed but the handling and the position made me ride the bike again and again it's enjoyable. And my impressions and my expectations about this bike are not false.

    Ducati Multistrada 950 Latest Updates

Ducati has launched its third BS6-compliant bike in India, the Multistrada 950 S. The booking amount is set at Rs 1 lakh and deliveries will commence soon. Ducati has priced the Multistrada 950 S at Rs 15. 49 lakh (ex-showroom India). The Multistrada 950 S is the most affordable and accessible bike in the Multistrada range.

Ducati Multistrada 950 Price in India

Ducati offers only the Multistrada 950 S in India for now. It is available only in Ducati Red colour at Rs 15. 49 lakh. In comparison, the regular BS4-compliant Ducati Multistrada 950 was priced at 12. 84 lakh (both ex-showroom India). Expect the newer GP White colour variant of the Multistrada 950S to be offered in the near future. Bookings for the red colour variant are open for a token amount of Rs 1 lakh and deliveries will commence soon.

    Ducati Multistrada 950 Features

The Ducati Multistrada 950 gets a six-axis IMU from Bosch which offers lean-sensitive traction control and cornering ABS. Other notable features in the S variant include Ducati Skyhook Suspension EVO, a bi-directional quickshifter, cruise control, LED lighting with cornering lights, and a 5-inch colour TFT console with smartphone compatibility. On the other hand, the regular variant gets an LCD instrument cluster. Both variants come with four riding modes as well as hill hold control.

    Ducati Multistrada 950 Engine

The ADV is powered by the same 937cc L-twin Testastretta engine, however, it now complies with Euro-5/BS6 emission norms. The motor puts out 114. 5PS/96Nm, and is linked to a 6-speed transmission with a hydraulically actuated slipper clutch. The S variant comes with a standard bi-directional quickshifter.

Ducati Multistrada 950 Suspension & Brakes

The standard variant rides on a 48mm KYB inverted front fork and a rear Sachs monoshock, both fully adjustable. Underpinnings of the Ducati Multistrada 950 S variant include an electronically controlled semi-active inverted front fork and rear monoshock. The bike comes to a halt using dual 320mm discs with Brembo monobloc caliper and a 265mm rear disc with Brembo floating caliper. The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels are shod with Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres.

    Ducati Multistrada 950 Rivals

The Ducati Multistrada 950 S will compete against the Triumph Tiger 900, Kawasaki Versys 1000, and the upcoming Suzuki V-Strom 1050.
