Kawasaki KX 450 Latest Updates
29 June 2018: The Kawasaki KX450F is one of the five competition bikes the manufacturer sells here in India. The bike sports a new swingarm and a few cosmetic changes to improve the overall durability of the bike.
If the motocross enthusiasts in you is disappointed with the lack of options available here, the Kawasaki KX450F should be just what the doctor ordered for you! The bike is built around a perimeter frame which houses a 449cc single-cylinder engine that puts out most of its power in the mid-range to boost its off-road usability. This unit is mated to a five-speed transmission with a final chain drive. Braking duties are taken care of by a 270mm petal disc for the front and a 240mm disc at the rear.
The 2017 KX450F gets an improved suspension setup as compared to the previous model. It rides on inverted forks by Showa for the front while the rear gets a link-type suspension with a Showa monoshock. Like most competition bikes the KX450F is ultra lightweight too, tipping the the scales at just 108kg and sporting a 6-litre fuel tank capacity.
The Kawasaki KX450F is being sold as a completely built unit (CBU) and costs Rs 7. 97 lakhs. However, it is not road-legal as the lack of a headlamp, tail lamp and indicators make it unfit for registration.
