A YouTube Channel called Creative Science has developed an electric monocycle, made to look like a KTM Duke. It borrows parts from several bikes and relies on DIY, custom made parts as well.

In terms of appearance, the bike makes use of a Yamaha FZ-S ‘fuel tank’ to give a muscular styling painted in orange, white and black colours with KTM stickers on the body. It also gets the exposed custom tubular chassis dipped in KTM orange paint. It is also equipped with bar-end circular rear view mirrors and a cafe-racer style seat. On the overall, the monocycle looks pretty unique and is bound to turn some heads while cruising on the road.

Powering the monocycle is a BLDC hub motor paired to a 60V in-house made li-ion battery pack with a capacity of 5000mAh (as mentioned on the battery pack in the video). However, no information about the power output, range and more has been disclosed, but don’t expect much from a contraption like this. One of the most important pieces of equipment is the self-balancing controller installed on the bike that maintains the upright position. The bike gets turned on by switching on an MCB. The sensor on the controller is connected to the throttle via wires controlling the movement of the bike.

The bike also features a faux headlamp, instrument cluster, scooter footpegs and a rear mudguard that completes the look of a motorcycle. While monocycles are easy to ride, fun, portable, a convenient form of quick transportation and not to mention, they look damn cool, they are also risky and can cause serious fatal injuries. Additionally, monocycles cannot offer much performance as they rely on the gyroscopic balance of just one wheel for accelerating as well as braking and are also illegal in most countries, including India.
