Honda Activa 110 DLX Variant Explained

The Honda Activa 110 is sold in three variants: Standard, DLX, and Smart. The DLX variant is priced at Rs 86,360 (ex-showroom, Delhi), roughly Rs 10,000  more than the base variant. That premium buys a fair bit of functional upgrades without tipping into keyless territory.

Design & Styling

This variant doesn't change the Activa's silhouette one bit; you'll need to look closely to tell it apart from the Standard at a glance. This variant swaps the halogen bulb for an LED headlamp, which looks a little more modern. It also rolls on alloy wheels rather than the Standard's pressed-steel units, a change that gives the scooter a slightly sportier stance.

Features

In place of the Standard's basic analogue dial, it gets a 4.2-inch TFT display that packs in a lot more information: a tachometer (not that a family scooter needs it), real-time and average mileage readouts, distance-to-empty, a clock, and an Eco indicator (turns on to show that you’re riding economically) alongside the usual speedometer and fuel gauge. Note that Bluetooth pairing and the Honda RoadSync app, with its navigation and call alerts, are reserved for the H-Smart variant only, so this console stays purely informational.

USB-C charging, which is an optional extra on the Standard, comes fitted as standard here. The rest of the practical bits carry over unchanged.

Safety & Hardware

Braking, engine electronics, and chassis hardware are shared across the whole Activa 110 lineup, so the DLX doesn't add anything new on this front. It still gets the idling stop-start system that shuts the engine off at a standstill to save fuel (switchable if you'd rather keep it running), the silent ACG starter for smoother start-ups, and the combined braking system that's standard regardless of variant.

Engine & Performance

Honda has kept no surprises here either. The Deluxe runs the same 109.51cc engine as every other Activa 110, good for 7.9PS and 9.05Nm, paired with a CVT automatic. It's tuned for easy, unstressed commuting rather than outright pace.

The DLX variant, while fairly well-equipped with extra features, fails to justify the 10,000-odd rupee price jump over the base variant. That’s because the top-end variant is just around Rs 4,700 more, so you might as well stretch your budget a little bit and go for the top-end variant with no compromises. That said, if you’re on a budget, then we’d rather suggest the base variant and simply install a smartphone holder if you really need navigation.
