What To Expect

The biggest change will be the new 174.7cc, single-cylinder engine borrowed from the SR 175 hp.e. It produces 13.26 PS and 14.14 Nm paired with a CVT gearbox. This should make the new SXR 175 noticeably more powerful (1.99 PS and 0.7 Nm more) than its predecessor, the SXR 160.

Apart from the new engine, the scooter is also expected to get a similar TFT console as the SR 175. Compared to the earlier LCD console on the SXR 160, it will offer features such as Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, along with call and SMS alerts

The SXR 175 is also expected to receive minor styling tweaks and new colour schemes to differentiate it from its predecessor, although its overall maxi scooter design is likely to remain unchanged.

BikeDekho Says

With this update, the SXR will finally get the much-needed upgrade it has been waiting for. We expect it to be priced at around Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom) and rival the Hero Xoom 160, Yamaha Aerox 155 and the upcoming Honda ADV 160

The update also comes at a time when the premium scooter segment is witnessing strong growth in India, with more buyers looking for lifestyle-oriented scooters. This gives Aprilia a good opportunity to further expand its premium scooter lineup.
