Honda has launched its CB 500 retro roadster in India. It was first unveiled a few months back along with some of the upcoming bikes from the brand. The CB500 now sits as Honda’s big-capacity roadster in India that competes with bikes like the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, and the BSA Gold Star 650.

The Honda CB 500 is available in three variants: Alloys, Spoke, and Spoke With Stripes. These variants differ according to the type of wheels they use, and the graphics.
Design
The Honda CB 500 looks a lot like the current CB350. It is a bit on the mature side when it comes to looks, but the brand has used a good amount of chrome to make it look a bit more premium. For starters, it gets brushed aluminium finish on the engine, along with a chunky exhaust. There is a round LED headlight with a tear-drop shaped fuel tank, minimal side panels and a single-piece seat. The bike is available in a total of five colour options: Pearl Igneous Black, Rebel Red Metallic, Mat Steel Silver Metallic, Pearl Deep Ground Gray and Pearl Igneous Black (with stripes).
Engine And Performance
The Honda CB 500 uses a 501 cc single-cylinder, air-oil-cooled engine that produces 28.1 PS, 43.3 Nm, and comes paired to a 5-speed gearbox. This is not an engine that’s built for high-speed riding, but rather easy-going highway runs. Expect it to deliver strong low-end torque, resulting in quick acceleration in city traffic.
Underpinnings
It uses a steel tube frame, along with conventional telescopic fork, and twin rear shock absorbers. There are disc brakes at both ends, and there is also dual channel ABS for added safety. The bike runs on a 19-inch front and an 18-inch rear wheel setup.
Features
The CB 500 gets an analogue speedometer, along with a digital inset that shows a gear position indicator, trip meters and an odometer. The bike uses LED lights all-around, and along with dual channel ABS it also gets a switchable traction control system.

Along with the launch of the CB 500, Honda has launched one new colour for each bike in the CB350 range. The CB350 gets a new subtle looking navy blue shade, the CB350C gets a premium looking metallic black paint scheme, while the CB350RS gets a sporty matte black colour.

The bookings for the Honda CB 500 have already started with delivery timeline expected to follow its market launch. According to Honda, all the detailed specifications of the Honda bike will be revealed in the 3rd quarter of FY 2026-27 for the CB500 Alloy variant, 4th quarter of FY 2026-27 for the CB500 Spoke variant and Spoke with Stripes, with deliveries commencing shortly after.
