It will be the third bike to be powered by the same engine as the Himalayan 450

    Quick Highlights:

    • It is expected to sit between the Guerrilla 450 and the Himalayan 450

    • Likely to get a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear wheel setup

    • India launch expected in early 2027

Royal Enfield Scram 450 is expected to join the brand’s 450cc line-up, alongside the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. This new bike is being developed to offer a mix of everyday usability and light off-road ability.

    What to expect?

The biggest change expected on the Scram 450 will likely be a new 19-inch front wheel instead of the larger 21-inch unit seen on the Himalayan. This will provide the bike a balance to cover both road and offroad duties.. At the rear, it will most likely use a 17-inch wheel. That said, the bike will get dual-purpose tyres.

The upcoming scrambler is also expected to get an inverted fork, unlike the telescopic fork seen on the Guerrilla 450, along with a monoshock at the rear. Being a scrambler, we expect the wheel travel to be slightly less than the Himalayan 450’s (200mm both front and rear), but will be more than that on the Guerrilla 450 (140mm front and 150mm rear).

    Design and comfort

Though the Scram 450 will likely share its chassis setup with the Himalayan, it will have its own unique look. At the front, it will have a high-mounted fender or beak along with a regular mudguard. The riding position is expected to be slightly upright and comfortable, more like the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450.

While the fuel tank may look similar to the Guerrilla, the rear section is expected to be different and have a new tail section. It will likely get a flat, single-piece seat and a scrambler-style number plate on the side panel for a proper retro vibe.

    Engine and features

The Scram 450 will use the same 452cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine as its siblings. Power output is also expected to remain unchanged at 40PS and 40Nm, with slight tuning changes to match its character. Royal Enfield could even tinker around with the gear ratios or the sprocket sizes to suit its scrambler character more.

The feature list is also expected to remain more or less the same as the other Royal Enfield bikes on this platform. It will most likely get the same round TFT display with smartphone connectivity and navigation. Other expected features include dual-channel ABS, riding modes, and a slip-and-assist clutch. All said and done, being a scrambler, we do hope Royal Enfield equips the bike with a switchable traction control system.

    Launch Timeline and Expected Price

The Royal Enfield Scram 450 is expected to launch in India in early 2027. Pricing will likely be between the Guerrilla and the Himalayan at around Rs 2.75 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a good option for riders who want a versatile and easy-to-use motorcycle. Once launched, it will compete with the Triumph Scrambler 400 X.
