It comes at a shocking price tag

After sending us a ‘Block Your Date’ and releasing a teaser, Honda has finally launched the CB300F in India at a price of Rs 2,25,900 (ex-showroom Delhi).

At the heart of the bike is an all-new 293cc air-oil-cooled engine making 24.5PS at 7500rpm and 25.6Nm at 5500rpm. It comes mated to a six-speed transmission and you also get traction control. You also get a slipper clutch.

The CB300F comes with a full-LED lighting system along with an LCD multifunction instrument cluster. It shows useful information like realtime/average mileage, distance-to-empty readouts, battery voltage, and gear position indicator. You also get Honda's smartphone voice control system, on the Deluxe Pro variant

As we suspected, Honda has gone for sporty ergonomics for the CB300F. It gets 17-inch alloys at both ends. Suspension duties are handled by an inverted fork along with 5-step preload-adjustable monoshock absorber. You get a 276mm disc up front and a 220mm one at the rear, with the safety net of dual-channel ABS. A kerb weight of 153kg coupled with an accessible seat height of 789mm, ground clearance of 177mm and a 14.1-litre fuel tank add to the bike's practicality.

Honda has priced the CB300F at Rs 2,25,900 for the Deluxe variant and Rs 2,28,900 for the Deluxe Pro variant (ex-showroom Delhi) and the bike's available in a total of three colours; Grey, Blue and Red. That makes the CB300F a rather pricey proposition. For perspective, the KTM 200 Duke comes with a more modern liquid-cooled engine, makes slightly more power and costs a colossal Rs 34,207 less than the base variant of the CB300F, despite having a displacement handicap. Chief rivals of the Honda CB300F include the KTM 200 Duke, Suzuki Gixxer 250, Yamaha FZ 25 and the Bajaj Pulsar N250.
