2026 Yamaha NMax 155 has been launched in Malaysia at MYR 11,498 (ex-showroom), which is approximately Rs 2,60,526. The only change is two new colours – Icon Blue, and Crystal Graphite. For reference, the previous iteration was available in Magma Black, and Sky Blue. 

The NMax 155 is a maxi-scooter, based on the same platform as the Aerox 155. While the latter looks quite sporty, the NMax takes a subtler approach. It has more curved bodywork with minimal graphics. It looks more touring-oriented with the large windscreen and the pillion seat has a thicker padding. 

The scooter is powered by the same 155cc liquid-cooled VVA (variable valve actuation) engine as the Aerox. However it makes 15.4PS and 14.2Nm, which is 0.4PS and 0.3Nm more than its Indian counterpart. It rolls on 13-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in a 110-section front tyre and a 130-section rear, both tubeless. It has a telescopic fork and preload-adjustable twin rear shock absorbers. Apart from this, the scooter also has disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard.

The Yamaha NMax 155 weighs 131kg (kerb), has a seat height of 775mm, and comes with a 7.1-litre fuel tank and 25 litres of underseat storage. To give you a perspective, the Aerox weighs 126kg (kerb), has a 790mm seat height, a 5.5-litre fuel tank, and 24.5-litre underseat storage. The feature list is quite similar to the Aerox, and includes all-LED lighting, an LCD instrument console, a USB charging port, and even the keyless ignition function.

Yamaha India had showcased the NMax 155 at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo (Auto Expo). It was mainly to gauge the market interest. If Yamaha India thinks there’s enough demand for the maxi-scooter, they might just bring it here, and at a price similar to the Yamaha Aerox 155. If that ever happens, it will be rivalled by the likes of the Aprilia SXR 160, Hero Xoom 160, and the Suzuki Burgman.
