Bajaj Pulsar Range To Be Updated Soon
The Pulsar brand will soon complete 25 years, and the celebrations are going to be huge
The Bajaj Pulsar will soon complete its 25 years. The first Indian performance-oriented bikes - Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 180 – were launched in November 2001. Since then the range has expanded quite a bit and now includes bikes ranging from 125cc to 350cc.
It seems like Bajaj has some grand celebrations planned for the brand. In a recent earnings call, Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto, announced a new bike as well as facelifts in the 160 cc to 400 cc range:
“Going forward, we will complete this exercise for the 150 cc segment by the introduction of an absolutely new 150 cc under the Pulsar brand and 10 facelifts in the 160 to 400 cc range with class-leading features and superior engine performance. The next focus is the 125 cc segment, where again an absolutely new 125 cc will be introduced in the Pulsar brand, along with a couple of new upgrades.”
New Pulsar 125 Classic
There’s a new Pulsar 125 incoming, and it was recently spotted as well. It looks much sportier and is expected with a brand new 124.54 cc single-cylinder engine, which should produce around 12 PS and 11 Nm.
The bike will feature a monoshock rather than the dual rear shocks. This will most likely improve the handling of the motorcycle.
Other Pulsar Facelifts
We can expect the other Pulsar bikes to get a facelift – Pulsar 125, Pulsar NS 125, Pulsar 150, Pulsar N160, Pulsar 180, Pulsar NS200, Pulsar N250, Pulsar RS200, Pulsar NS400Z. This will help to keep the familiar Pulsar styling but refreshed to make the bikes look modern and more appealing.
New Instrument Console
To bring in the Pulsars to the modern era, a brand new TFT console could replace the LCD units. Features like smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation should be a part of the package. Though the main display could be standard across the range, its features could vary depending on the model and variants – as we have seen in the existing range.
LED Indicators
A lot of Pulsar models are still equipped with bulb-type indicators. Bajaj could give LED indicators for the entire range, to make them look modern and stylish.
New Colours & Graphics
While the overall styling could be carried forward, we can expect new colours with updated graphics, across the range. Just like the current line-up we can expect a good blend of colour options that should be appealing to a wider range of buyers.
And since the celebrations are grand, we won’t mind an exclusive, 25th anniversary livery that could make the bikes look extra special.
Performance
We don’t expect a lot of changes, especially in the more powerful bikes, since they have suitable performance. However, the smaller Pulsar could do with slightly more performance.

The OG Pulsars came in at a time when there were almost no good performance-oriented bikes for enthusiasts on a budget. With the new Pulsars, Bajaj will bring them to a new age and keep them likeable as they have been. With every update each of the Pulsars had over the years, they have only become better. We expect the same this time as well.
