Almost exactly 30 days since the previous increase, prices are once again up by Rs 1,500

Bajaj Dominar 250: Road Test Review

We’re already almost halfway through October so we were getting quite worried that maybe Bajaj had forgotten to carry out its monthly price hike for the Dominar range. But seldom one to disappoint, Bajaj has remained true to form, and like clockwork, one month after the previous hike, both the Dominar 250 and Dominar 400 have become dearer once again.

Old Price (ex-showroom Delhi)

New Price (ex-showroom Delhi)

Increase

Dominar 250

Rs 1,64,218

Rs 1,65,715

Rs 1,497

Dominar 400

Rs 1,96,258

Rs 1,97,758

Rs 1,500

The prices have been increased by Rs 1,500 which in isolation doesn’t sound like much, but when this sort of thing keeps happening periodically, it has a massive impact on the price of the bike in the long run. At this rate, the Dominar 400, a bike launched at Rs 1.36 lakh, is just a couple of months away from crossing the Rs 2-lakh mark!

We’re not sure what it is about these motorcycles that requires Bajaj to keep driving up prices, but we hope whatever it is, can be sorted out soon. As a footnote, we were quite impressed by the Dominar 250 and you can find out why here. And if this trend is anything to go by, you should pick yours up sooner rather than later.
