This Italian beauty gets an inverted fork, TFT console and more

Italian motorcycles are generally not only amazing to ride, but amazing to look at as well. Today we have one such motorcycle for you to feast your eyes on: the FB Mondial Piega 125.

The Piega 125 shows that 125cc motorcycles can be exciting too, even in pictures.

The stacked LED headlights give the bike a rather unique and modern look. It has a muscular stance with sharp edges, adding to the bike’s aggressive look. That, coupled with the paint scheme this model gets, makes it look particularly attractive. The ‘gill’ air intakes on the tank extensions are instantly noticeable and the minimalist design (especially around the tail section) gives the bike an uncluttered look.

At the heart of this Italian beauty is a 124cc single-cylinder engine with 14.49PS and 10.5Nm connected to a 6-speed gearbox. That puts it on par with the likes of the KTM 125 Duke in terms of power. That said, the Duke has 1.5Nm more on tap.

Underpinnings include a 40mm inverted fork at the front along with a monoshock at the rear. That said, the paltry 120mm suspension travel at the rear could be an issue. A 300mm disc at the front and 220mm disc at the rear take care of braking duties. The bike is offered in two variants: ABS and CBS (Combined Braking System), which will divide the braking force between both the discs even if only one is engaged.

As you hop onto the bike, a modern-looking TFT instrument cluster stares back at you which, combined with an all-LED lighting system, gives the bike a premium feel. The FB Mondial Piega 125’s 820mm seat height, although not low by any means, should be accessible to most, given just how narrow the bike looks. Overall, the bike tips the scales at just 135 kilograms, which should make for an agile and responsive ride around the city.

Coming to the rear, the floating LED indicators and number plate look futuristic and give the bike a clean look.

The Piega 125 not only looks and feels premium, but carries a premium price tag too. Retailing at 4,440 Euros (approximately Rs 3,70,667), the bike is a bit cheaper than the KTM 125 Duke’s 4,590 Euro price tag. It’s unlikely that the bike will make its way to India as we only got the HPS 300 from the FB Mondial stable, and that too was discontinued soon after.

But if you’re looking for a sporty 125cc bike, you could have a look at the KTM 125 Duke.
