2024 Yamaha R15M has been launched in India. It’s now available in two colours: Metallic Grey, and Icon Performance. The R15M now gets turn-by-turn navigation, music controls, and an LED light for the rear number plate.

The Icon Performance is a new colour scheme. It gets the same grey colour as the other, but a carbon-fibre-like finish replaces the black patches on the fairing. The instrument console has layout changes to accommodate turn-by-turn navigation readout. That, and the music controls, can be accessed via the Yamaha smartphone app.
No mechanical changes to the new Yamaha R15M. It still gets the 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with variable-valve actuation, that makes 18.4PS and 14.2Nm. The R15M also has traction control, quickshifter for upshifts, and a slipper clutch.
The Yamaha R15 and the R15M rival the likes of the Hero Karizma XMR, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 and the KTM RC 200, in terms of price. That said, while the R15 is an excellent motorcycle, the Rs 2 lakh plus price tag for the new variant is a little too expensive. If you add a couple of thousands over that, you could even get the Triumph Speed 400, a 400cc premium motorcycle.
The Yamaha R15 is a great beginner sportbike. It has ample performance to keep a new rider engaged, and also a forgiving nature. The R15 is a fantastic teacher in that sense. While it’s a fun bike to ride on the streets, it unleashes a whole new character on the track. In fact, it is so much fun on the track that many frequent, experienced track riders have an R15 just to ride on the track – it’s that good. The R15M takes this nature up a notch with all the extra rider aids that it gets. If you are a new rider who’s looking for a bike that can stay in your garage for a very long time, without becoming boring, the R15 is one of the best picks.

- High performance bike in the segmentI chose this bike because of the performance it gives in this segment and price range, also the looks it offers makes its road presence more attractive, mileage is one more aspect that i took in consideration while buying this bike. Performance wise ride is exceptionally excellent but you can suffer back pain if u ride it in incorrect posture. Keep your arms slightly bend while holding handle, put your toes or the fingers of the feet on the footrest rather than putting while feet on it, this will make your ride much more fun in long run. Bike is well maintained and need very less as maintenance charge. I would really recommend this bike to the person who is looking for sporty bikes in affordable price, person with 5 feet 6 inch and above should buy this bike as it will also complement your looks, as well as it offers low maintenance and hight performance.Read More1

Agile handling, and features like inverted front fork and traction control. its also praised for improved build quality and good balance of city-friendly comfort and track-inspired performance, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced riders. performance is best as compare to other bikes in this range , I don't think about comfort because its a sport bike. having powerful engine and sharp acceleration. especially in the mid-to-high RPM range. The rear seat is small and uncomfortable for anything more than short rides but I like to travel single. I recommend this bike to the Beginners and budding sport bike enthusiasts , Riders who enjoy spirited riding/cornering , Daily commuters while the aggressive posture can be drawback in heavy traffic or long rides, the bike's light weight , good mileage ( around 45-50 km/l ) gives satisfaction.
