The dates for the 2020 Auto Expo in India has been revealed. The show is all set to take place from 7 to 12 February 2020 at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. It will be open for the media a couple of days before the public opening, and we’ll be at the venue. So stay tuned for live updates from the show!

We expect brands like TVS, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Hero MotoCorp to participate in the expo. With the government’s push towards electric vehicles intensifying, we believe all the manufacturers will have quite a few offerings catering to the EV segment this time. Expect a number of electric-only brands like Hero Electric, Ather Energy, Revolt Motors, Okinawa, Tork Motors, and 22Kymco to participate as well.

We could also see interesting electric concepts from the Japanese Big Four. It was reported last month that Honda was willing to team up with rivals to develop a standardised platform for battery technology as well as charging infrastructure. If the proposed move is fruitful, it would go a long way in making the process of switching to EVs in the auto industry easier.

Apart from developments in the EV segment, we could also see all the two-wheeler manufacturers showcasing their BS6-compliant offerings. That’s because the Indian auto industry will be upgrading to BS6 emission norms from April 2020 onwards.

Popular brands that might skip the expo include Royal Enfield, Bajaj, KTM, Triumph, Ducati, among others. That being said, Royal Enfield is likely to launch the 2020 iteration of the Classic 350 as well as the Thunderbird 350 just before the expo, similar to the Himalayan launch back in 2016.
