Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Highlights

The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 ABS has been launched at a price of Rs 1.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). With the launch, the Thunderbird 350 is now compliant with the upcoming safety regulations that mandate ABS for all bikes above 125cc. The Thunderbird 350 ABS is equipped with dual-channel ABS and is priced at a premium of around Rs 5,000 over the non-ABS variant. However, with the upcoming change in regulations, Royal Enfield might gradually phase out the non-ABS variant of the Thunderbird 350. The launch also comes close on the heels of Thunderbird 350 X ABS being introduced.

The Thunderbird 350 is a well-known name in the tribe of laidback cruisers in India. It offers a comfortable riding position, a commanding road presence and several useful features like a projector headlamp and a large 20-litre fuel tank. Powering the Thunderbird 350 is the same 346cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that powers the rest of the company’s 350 range. The carburetted motor churns out 20.2 PS of power at 5250rpm and 28Nm of torque at 4000rpm. The motorcycle derives its stopping power via a 280mm disc brake up front and a 240mm disc brake at the rear. In the ABS variant, this braking setup is aided by a dual-channel ABS unit to offer better braking performance.

The Thunderbird 350 has a claimed mileage figure of 40kmpl and a claimed top speed of 107kmph. It further offers curvy LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), pillion backrest to offer optimum comfort and attractive colour options. The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 ABS competes with the Bajaj Dominar 400 ABS, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the UM Renegade Commando.
